Stone Ocean

Stone Ocean is the sixth chapter of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series. It was released in Weekly Shonen Jump from January of 2000 to April of 2003. A total of 17 volumes were included in this chapter during the original publication of the manga series.

Stone Ocean Plot

The plot of Stone Ocean is set near Florida at Port St. Lucie. The story follows Jolyne Cujoh, Jotaro Kujo’s daughter. She was framed for murder and ended up in a jail in Green Dolphin Street.

Jotaro soon came to visit her. He said that a certain disciple of the DIO is behind her case and that they are targeting to kill her while in prison. Jotaro urged her to escape.

The plan began to turn bad when a certain Stand named Whitesnake, came to remove Jotaro’s Stand as well as his memories. Jotaro then sunk into a death-like state. Jolyne then must find a way to recover her father’s memory and his Stand as well.

Cast and Characters

There is no final casting yet for the anime adaptation of Stone Ocean. But instead, let us go through the main characters in the story.

Jolyne Cujoh is the daughter of Jotaro Kujo, the main protagonist in the previous chapter, Stardust Crusaders. She was famed and imprisoned at Green Dolphin Jail. Her Stand allows her to change her body into an elastic thread. It is called stone free.

Hermes Costello is another female inmate. She was in prison for a purpose and opted to avenge the death of her sister. Her Stand is Stand Kiss. This allows her to put stickers on objects that she wanted to duplicate.

Foo Fighters or F.F. is another character that Jolyne met in prison. She is sapient and is composed of planktons.

Emporio Alnino is a kid who was born in prison. His Stand manifests itself through forming a ghost room. This room is where he lives along with two other characters, Weather Report and Narciso Anasui.

Weather Report is another inmate. He helped Jolyne at the request of Emporio. His stand allows him to control the weather and the atmosphere in general.

Narciso Anasui is another inmate who liked Jolyne. He wished to marry her regardless of how Jolyne feels for him. His stand ability allows him to phase as an object or into another person’s body. His stands act as a protective barrier and absorb any kind of damaged that is dealt to the person he is phased in.

Jotaro Kujo, the star of Stardust Crusaders and Unbreakable. He is the father of Jolyne and now is in his middle ages. His Stand is called Star Platinum. This allows him to have great strength, speed, precision, and the ability to stop the hands of time.

Father Enrico Pucci is the jail warden and is a Roman Catholic priest. He is also one of the remaining loyalists to DIO. Pucci’s stand is Whitesnake. This allows him to torture, anyone, up to their breaking point. This allows him to extract their memories and is embedded in something that resembles a compact disc.
