Frontier is a Canadian television series following a historical drama genre. Its setting is in the northern part of the American fur trade industry, an 18th century Canada or Rupert’s Land, sometime between 1763 and 1779.
It was co-created by Brad Peyton, Peter Blackie, and Rob Blackie, and co-produced by the channel’s first original script in Discovery Canada and in Netflix. It premiered in November of 2016.
The series was immediately renewed for a second season in October 2016, before it premiered. The second season was released in October of 2017.
For its third season, it was renewed in September 2017, which is also ahead of the second season. The third season was first premiered on Netflix, in November of 2018. Later on, it was broadcasted in Canada around December of 2018.
The series featured action and adventure-packed show, embracing the elements of western culture.
The story follows the life of Declan Harp, a half Irish and half Native American outlaw, who is planning to break the Hudson’s Bay Company empire and its fur trade in Canada.
Jason Momoa, who plays the role of Declan Harp, has already made a name from his ‘Game of Thrones’ series. Many of his fans would love to see him on the screen as the forefront and present in every action in this series. The film sets are designed in details so that viewers can appreciate an authentic feel and experience.
It is expected that the series will gain media and fan attention, with their good reviews, however, some critics have said that ‘Jason Momoa’s hype performance is weighed down by the series’ not so exciting storytelling.

The story continues, where there is a bounty on Declan’s head and James became a part of the bounty hunters. Chesterfield and Emberly have worked together and conspired against Benton. While everything is in motion, Sokanon and Michael were struggling to keep the Black Wolf in business.
Season 3
The third season of the series runs from December 2018 to December 2018 with a total of 6 episodes.
The story continues as Declan went to save Grace from Benton and were Chalk and Emberly turned the tables on Benton. There has been a new alliance formed after the collapse of Sokanon’s crusade. Declan attacks the castle of Benton only to face his darkest temptation.
Season 4 Cast
Like many other film series, the main characters will definitely retain their roles, especially when they have played the part well. We can expect to see more of Jason Momoa as Declan Harp, Landon Liboiron as Michael Smith, Zoe Boyle as Grace Emberly, Jessica Matten as Sokanon, Shawn Doyle as Samuel Grant, Evan Jonigkeit as Captain Chesterfield, and other actors from the third franchise of the film.
There will also be a new set of actors for new character roles, still, production needs to cast it.
What many fans would like to expect from the season 4 cast would be new character roles that could influence the diversity of Declan, making the upcoming show more packed with mystery, thrill, and excitement.
Season 4 Plot
The film series ‘Frontier’ has revolved around the life of Declan Harp and the activities of Hudson’s Bay Company. The company has monopolized the fur trade in Canada, doing some illegal activities that could benefit them. These bad practices have caught the attention of a Canadian outlaw, which is Declan.
Moving onward on the possible plot on season 4, many have anticipated that this could be the season finale of Declan because of some statements made by Jason Momoa. Nevertheless, fans are eager to see a continuation of the story.
The show has already given us a clear picture on how the characters have evolved and the continued power struggle involving the fur trade industry.
The early desire for revenge and revolution against the oppression will follow through on the fourth season, and we may finally see how everything will settle or heighten. We might see the similarity of the plot like in the movie ‘Braveheart’, yet, we can still find some details how the story uniquely changes in characters and situations, which makes it very enjoyable to watch.
More mysteries will be revealed, and the characters will come together to fulfill their roles. We will see more of those deerskin tunics, tailored suit marks, and tartan sashes, how they have shaped civilization and social status.
The show is admired through its complication and nuance over pulp and titillation. It takes pride in what the television theatre can do in terms of a multi-location and multi-prolonged story.
Season 4 Release Date
If we look back on the third season of the series, it premiered in November 2018 to December 2018. Most likely, if there would be a season four of the series, as many fans have waited. Season 4 could be the season finale, or who knows, right?
We can expect the series to continue later in 2021.
