Thomas William Selleck was born on Jan. 29, 1945. His birthplace is in Detroit, Michigan. Meanwhile, his parents are Martha Jagger and Robert Dean Selleck. His father worked as a real estate investor while his mother was a housewife. He is one of four children where he has an older brother named Robert, a sister named Martha, and a younger brother named Daniel.
As Tom was growing up, he and his family moved to Sherman Oaks, California where he proceeded to go to Grant High School. After graduating in 1962, he proceeded to Angeles Valley College where he managed to get a scholarship to the University of Southern California for playing basketball.
