Early life
Born to Ryan Guzman and his long-time girlfriend Christiane Lopes, Mateo Lopes Guzman was warmly welcomed into the world on January 24th, 2019 Thursday. Mateo, being their firstborn child, the proud couple announced their pregnancy via an Instagram post in 2018, adding that there were two names they had decided on. Mateo and Genevive for either of the genders.
Two weeks following the announcement, the couple found out the gender of the baby. Through a gender reveal video, they shared a boy with a hashtag #Mateo in the caption indicating the name they have chosen for their child.
Family Background
Mateo Lopes Guzman gets his middle name from his mom, Chrystiane Lopes, and his last name from his dad, Ryan Guzman, ages 28 and 34, respectively. He is a nephew to Steven Guzman and a Grandson to Ray and Lisa Guzman.
His parents, Ryan and Chrystiane Lopes, have been engaged as of 2018.
Where the Name Mateo Came From
In an interview, shortly after the birth of the child, Ryan Guzman was asked where he was inspired to name his son “Mateo,” to which he answered that his mom had been running a daycare for mostly all her life and that there was this one kid she used to take care of whose name was a Mateo. “He was a sweet boy,” Guzman added.
“As soon as I found out I had a son, I pictured this little kid.” continued Ryan while explaining how the name Mateo came to life.
The Ultimate Nightmare
Being twelve months old, Mateo Guzman had a sudden medical scare in February 2020, where he had trouble breathing. He later took Instagram to share the instance and thank the paramedics for being a huge help.
“I’ve been through some scary events in my life, but none scarier than coming home after work and seeing your fiancée rush to your son’s room to find out he can barely breathe; he’s wheezing and coughing and giving you your worst nightmare.” Ryan elaborated.
He further thanked the EMTs and the local station for just treating their son, Mateo, well, but they were also a huge help keeping the couple calm.
In the video, he also thanked his soon-to-be wife, Chrystiane, while Mateo himself could be heard making baby noises in the background, further assuring the audience that he was fine.
Public Life
Mateo’s parents, Ryan and Chrystiane, have not decided to show him or his little sister their second-born Genevive’s face yet, so what they look like is still a mystery. However, they like to keep their privacy intact in maintaining their relationships and raising their children.
