No other genre enjoys such a devoted and passionate following such as Anime. And that is for a reason. Anime combines the emotional appeal of complex characters, storylines filled with fantasies, and some kickass action sequences.
One of the finest Animes is called Ajin. Again, like most other Anime series, is adapted from a manga series of the same name. The Manga series was released in 2012 and was positively received by the world. It is still going on. It was first adapted into three feature films by a production house called Polygon Pictures.
The pictures were released in 2015 and 2016. After that, the production house decided to make the anime series. The first season was released in January 2016. The show was very well received and the demand for the second season arose. The fans were delighted when the second season was released in September 2016. The second season also was well received and it led to more anticipation for the third season. The third season, however, is still awaited.
The story revolves around the main protagonist, Nagai Kei’s fight against Karou, the antagonist. In an unfortunate fatal traffic accident, Kei discovers that he is an Ajin. Adjoins are humans who have very sophisticated regenerative capabilities. Even so that they can get back to normal even after being turned into sliced meatballs.
Humans are aware of these demi-humans living among themselves. The governments act like they do have Ajins’ best interests at heart but their actions are the exact opposite of their words. They use Ajin for multiple tasks, mostly cruel experiments, owing to their capabilities of regeneration.
This has turned several Ajins against the governments who have started a revolution against them. One of these is Sato, the antagonist of the show. To escape the horrible experimentation of the government, Kei has to fight Sato and capture him. The show is dark, gritty, and capturing, which is why the fans are so excited about the third reason.
Ajin Season 3 Release Date
The series has been very successful since it’s conception in the 2012 Manga. The movies were appreciated and the shows as well. The demand for the next installment was always high.
After the finale of the first season in April 2016, the second season came only 5 months later. But, it has been four years since then and we haven’t seen the third season yet, or any news regarding the third season for that matter.
Well, it is disappointing but the truth is that the studio has made no announcements regarding the release of Ajin season 3 or any other news related to it. This could be due to several reasons but we will discuss the two most prominent ones. The first one is the shortage of content of the slow writing process.
It should be noted that in the first season, the show was completely following the manga in the matter of the storyline. But, in the second season, it moved away from the storyline and made some independent decisions affecting the storyline. The thing is that following a pre-written manga and writing your material are two different situations.
The first is not that time consuming the latter requires more thought to be put in. This could be the reason that the third season is so late because they still haven’t figured out the third act. Another reason could be the pandemic that we are all going through. It has affected the production of every show and film out there and Ajin is no exception. Its production was affected but we hope it is back on track.
Ajin Season 2 Cast revealed
While we are still awaiting any official news from the creators themselves, it is safe to assume that the actors are reprising their roles from the previous seasons of the show. Here is a list of who should be playing who on the sets of Ajin season 3, because they did it for the last couple of seasons.

Ajin Season 3 Plotline
Guessing the plotline of the third season is a tedious task prone to inaccuracies because of two reasons. The first one being that, as we discussed, the creators of the show have moved away from the manga and have started writing independently.
This makes predicting the next move of the studio very tough. The second is that the studio hasn’t revealed anything regarding the storyline, such as a trailer, or even a bleak sneak peek. This means that we have no hints from the studio. All that we can anticipate is the returning of Sato.
He will return from the US’s capture and probably with support from the US troops. He probably can negotiate a deal with the troops to supply him with weapons and help him to accomplish political goals. All we can say for sure is that season 2 ended with a cliffhanger and the third season should be able to answer it, along with all the other questions that we have.
Will there ever be an Ajin Demi-Human Season 3?
The first two seasons came out in a span of fewer than 10 months but the third season has taken more than 4 years to come out. Therefore, it is only natural if are asking yourself if the show is even going to come back or leave the characters hanging without an ending, along with the audience.
The doubt becomes even heavier when we see that no information regarding the third season has been put out by the creators. But, you should rest assured because according to our estimates, the show will be out sometime in 2021. The third season is still in the writing phase and affected by the pandemic, but will be out by the mid to end of 2021.
