Mateo Lopes Guzman was welcomed into this world on January 24, 2019. He was born to Ryan Guzman and his longtime girlfriend, Christiane Lopes. The proud couple announced the pregnancy of their first child in 2018 through an Instagram post, with the choice of two names they had to decide on. Mateo or Genevive depending on the gender of their upcoming child.
The couple found the gender of their baby two weeks after the pregnancy announcement. They shared a video that revealed the gender of their baby, which was with a hashtag Mateo following the caption indicating the name they chose for their child.

Mateo Lopes Guzman gets the middle name from his mummy, Christiane Lopes and his last name from his father daddy, Ryan Guzman. At the time of birth, Mateo’s mother was 28, and his father was 34.
He is also a Grandson of Ray and Lisa Guzman and nephew of Steven Guzman. His parents got engaged in 2018, and since then, they have been dating and gave birth to their first child in 2019.
Where Did the Name Mateo Come From?
After the child’s birth, in a short interview, Ryan Guzman was asked about the name of his baby boy and from where he was inspired by the name Mateo. He answered that his mother was running a daycare throughout her whole life, and there was only one kid who used to take care of him, whose name was Mateo. He further added that ‘He was a sweet boy.
While explaining in an interview how he named his son Mateo he further said that as soon as he found out that he had a baby boy, he pictured that little kid.
What was the Ultimate Nightmare Regarding Mateo?
In February 2020, when Mateo was only 12 months old, he got a sudden medical scare and had trouble breathing. His father shared on Instagram and thanked the paramedics for the tremendous help.
He elaborated that he had been going through some scary events in his life. After returning to work, he saw her fiancé rushing to the baby’s room and found out that Mateo was running out of breath. He was coughing, wheezing which gave him the worst nightmare.
He also thanked the local stations and EMTs for treating his son, Mateo. They got massive help from them to keep their son out of danger and calm the couple.
In the video, he also thanked his fiancé, Christiane, while the baby noises of their son Mateo could be heard from the background, assuring the audience that Mateo was fine.
What about the Public Life of Mateo?
Ryan and Christiane haven’t decided yet to show either their son Mateo or his little sister Genevive’s face yet. So it is still a mystery how they look, maybe like their father or mother. However, they like to keep their privacy intact, maintain their relationships, and raise their kids.
