If you’ve been an avid viewer of the History channel, then you might have come across the hit TV show ‘Vikings.’
Written and created by Michael Hirst, the show debuted its first season back on March 3, 2013. Since then, it has skyrocketed to fame and relevance as it has captivated a sea of fans and followers.
‘Vikings’ currently has six seasons under its belt, with the last one released on December 4, 2019. The initial report was that season six would have a total of 20 episodes. Unfortunately, only ten episodes have been aired, leaving fans waiting in vain for the remaining ten.
Recent reports suggest that the remaining ten episodes will now become the 7th season of ‘Vikings.’ With the cliff-hanging season six, there’s a lot of things to expect for what season seven will unfold.
Vikings Season 7: Cast
Also known as part 2 of season six, the much-anticipated seventh season of ‘Vikings’ will bring back many familiar faces. Fans of the show will be happy to know that the same cast of characters will be returning for season 7.
Some of the casts who will be reprising their roles include the following:
- Alex Ludwig (King Bjorn)
- Alex Anderson (Ivar the Boneless
- Ben Robson (Kalf)
- Danila Kozlovsky (Oleg the Prophet)
- David Lindstrom (Sigurd)
- John Kavanagh (The Sheer)
- Jordan Patrick Smith (Ubbe)
- Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha)
- Marco Ilsø (Hvitserk)
Other actors are also expected to make an appearance in the show for season 7. But since nothing is confirmed, we’ve yet to know who they are. Nonetheless, we expect some new updates regarding the cast of characters soon.
Vikings Season 7: Storyline
As one of the most-watched shows on television, you can expect that Vikings will not fall short of any amazing fighting scenes and vivid cinematography. The show’s narrative followed the journey of Viking Ragnar Lothbrok, who was a legendary Norse hero.
In the series, Ragnar was a Viking farmer who became famous for his raids into England. He eventually became a Scandinavian King.
One of his sons, Bjorn, also became king. The series then explores all of the riches that his sons get and their journeys in England, Scandinavia, and the Mediterranean.
Vikings Season 7: Plot
The 6th season of ‘Vikings’ finished with the first ten out of 20 episodes. With this in mind, it would be hard to conclusively predict what season seven will be about. Fans were left speechless when the supposed season 6 finale ended with yet another cliffhanger.
The last moments of season six feature Harald lying on the battlefield. A sword has struck him during his and Bjorn’s battle with Ivar the Boneless, Prince Oleg, and the Rus Vikings. He was presumed dead. But like any good series, there will always be a twist.
Now, with a new season coming, we’ll have to predict what will happen moving forward. Everything is pure speculation as we’ve yet to receive any new updates or news from the producers. So unless it’s from them, take any rumors you hear with a grain of salt.
Vikings Season 7: Will There Be More Seasons?
Unfortunately, season 7, or the second part of season 6, will be the last of the ‘Vikings’ series. If we can recall, the trailer for the 6th season features a one-liner that says, “the saga comes to an end.” That meant the sixth was supposedly the final season of ‘Vikings.’
However, since the latter ten episodes of season 6 were not aired, they turned it into a new season, which meant season 7 would be the hit TV series’s final episodes.
These words were enough to hype the fans and get them excited for the seventh and final season. Some fans threatened to boycott the show after Ragnar’s death in season 4. However, the show continues to be watched and loved by many followers today.
That shows how much the characters and the story have carved into each audience’s mind and emotions. Expect to see a lot more exciting revelations and action-packed battles as season 7 approaches.
Vikings Season 7: Release Date
The seventh and proposed final season of ‘Vikings’ will air in either the last week of November or the early part of December 2020. There’s also the possibility of the new season getting postponed until next year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The 7th season will comprise the remaining ten episodes that were cut from season 6. Many sources speculate that this will be the last episode that we will get from ‘Vikings’ and will mark the end of the series.
However, official announcements have not been made regarding the fate of the show. So if you’re a ‘Vikings’ fan, you’ll be happy to know that a renewed season after the 7th is still possible. Right now, all we can do is wait and hope for the best.
Vikings: Valhalla On Netflix
For fans, it’s quite disheartening that ‘Vikings’ is about to come to an end. Fortunately, Netflix has come to the rescue. According to some reliable sources, ‘Vikings’ will have a spin-off series called ‘Vikings: Valhalla.’ They also confirmed that it’s already in the making.
Unfortunately, if you’ve come to love and care for the current ‘Vikings’ series, you might need to adapt to a new point of view once the sequel rolls around. The spin-off series will be set more than a hundred years after the events of ‘Vikings.’
In the new series, England will start to make a stand against the Scandinavian raiders.
