Bob Saget was born on 17 May 1956 to a father who was a supermarket executive and a mother who worked at a hospital. He was born in Philadelphia. He spent his childhood in California and went back to Philadelphia to attend high school. Bob started attending Temple University’s art school and created Through Adam’s Eyes when he was a student. The movie earned him an award at the Student Academy Award. He graduated in 1978 and wanted to study further, but could not because of health issues involving his appendix.

Bob went on to marry Sherri Kramer in 1982 by getting divorced in 1997. He has recently married Kelly Rizzo, in 2018 and is a father of three children. Later in his career, he stated that he was a cocky overweight guy when he was 22 but his appendix operation had quite an impact on him.

Career

His career began with a stint at  CBS’s The Morning program but he came into the limelight after landing the role of Danny Tanner in Full House. The show was put out in 1987 and was a hit with family viewers. In 1989, he started hosting America’s Funniest Home Videos.

This was a big breakthrough and he was associated with the show until 1997. He was working on both the shows simultaneously. Bob returned for a one hour special of America’s Funniest Home Videos in 2009 and was joined by Tome Bergeron on hosting.

In 1996, he released a television film called For Hope, which was based on the life story of his sister Gay Hope, who suffers from Scleroderma and had does three years earlier. IN 1998, He got together with Norm Macdonald and did Dirty Work. The movie was not appreciated by the critics or the audience and failed at the box office. The movie now has a spot on everyone’s memory because it was mentioned several times in The Howard Stern Show, where it was a repeated joke.

In 2001, he did a sitcom titled Raising Dad, which also starred Kate Jennings and Brie Larson. The show only went on for one season. After that, he was a part of some game shows, made small appearances on TV, and even played a fictionalized version of himself on Entourage. He even had a role in the movie that was released in 2015. Bob Saget has done a lot of work in raising awareness about Scleroderma. He is a board member of the Scleroderma research foundation. His story, Gay Hope, was diagnosed with Scleroderma WW when she was 43 years and succumbed to the disease at the age of 47.

This could have been avoided because she had been misdiagnosed multiple times before. In an interview, Bob said that when they visited dermatologists with her sister, they were not sure about the right treatment since they had not encountered many patients. Many celebrities also supported the cause such as Robin Williams and Regina Hall. Bob even claimed that disorganization had raised $25 million through charity.
