Karac Pendragon Plant is the deceased son of musician, Robert Plant. Robert was named the Greatest Metal Vocalist of All Time by “Hit Parader” magazine in 2006. Karac Pendragon Plant was born on 20 April 1972 in Worcestershire, England. He was the first son of Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and Maureen Plant (née Wilson).
Karac’s father, Robert Anthony Plant CBE was born on 20 August 1948 in the Black Country town of West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England, to Robert C. Plant, a qualified civil engineer who worked in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, and Annie Celia Plant (née Cain), a Romani woman. He gained an interest in singing and rock and roll music at an early age.
Robert married Maureen Wilson on 9 November 1968. The couple had three children including Karac. Their daughter Carmen Jane born in 1968, later married Charlie Jones, Robert’s bass player for solo tours. Their youngest son Logan Romero was born in 1979. Karac died aged six on 26 July 1977. The autopsy revealed Karac had died from natural causes. Only a week earlier Carmen had become ill with stomach enteritis which may have been the same virus that affected Karac. Robert & Maureen divorced in August 1983. In 1991, Robert and Shirley Wilson, Maureen’s sister, had a son, Jesse Lee.
In 1993, Robert released the song ‘I Believe’ which put into words the thoughts he kept for years to himself over the grief of losing his son.
