Maisha Mescudi is the older sister of American rapper, producer, fashion designer, and actor Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, famously known as Kid Cudi. She grew up in an Ohio estate with her three brothers, Dean, Domingo, and Scott Mescudi. Her parents are Elsie Banks and Lindberg Styles; her mother is a school choir teacher at Roxboro, while her father was a World War II Air Force veteran, substitute teacher, and house painter.
Maisha’s father died in 1995 due to cancer; however, his death greatly affected Maisha’s younger brother Scott. He became a rebellious child and was often in trouble with the teachers.

Maisha Mescudi studied in a high school that was within their neighborhood. Her mother made sure her children went to school. As she left the house to teach her music students, her children also went to school. After dropping out of college Maisha’s brother moved to New York City to pursue a music career. In New York, he did odd jobs to support his music career. His first song, Day ‘n’ Nite, was well received and achieved great success, but it was released a year later after its production.
With the help of Kanye West, Maisha’s brother’s music career was on the right track. He worked with rapper Jay-Z by producing an album for him. In his music career, Kid Cudi has recorded and produced many great songs and albums; some are collaborative projects, while others he has done as a solo artist.
