James Thomas Fallon was born on September 19, 1974, in Brooklyn, New York to Gloria and James W. Fallon. He grew up in an overprotective and strict environment together with his sister, Gloria.

He attended a Roman Catholic school which eventually sparked his interest to pursue the priesthood.

His aspirations changed over time, Fallon felt more inclined to comedy instead. Listening to a radio program called The Dr. Demento Show became his pass time exposing him to both music and comedy.
