Princess Agents is also popularly known as the Legend of Chu Qiao. It belongs to the genre of Historical fiction, Action, and Romance. It was originally made in the language Mandarin. The series was based on 11 Chu Te Gong Huang Fei written by Xiao Xiang Dong Er. It was again rewritten by Jia Wen, Yang Tao, and Chen Lan. It was directed by Wu Jinyuan and starred Zhao Liying, Lin Gengxin, Shawn Dou, and Li Qin in important roles. 

It is a Chinese television series that had a total of 58 episodes. The show has been produced by Ma Zhongjun and Zhao Yifang on locations like Hengdian World Studios, and Inner Mongolia. Its executive producer is Liu Yingxuan and the companies involved in its production are Ciwen Entertainment, Croton Media, and Mitao Media. The official distributor of the series is Mitao Media and it originally aired on Hunan TV. The first episode of the series premiered on 5 June and its last episode was aired on 1 August 2017. 

Fans of the show have been eagerly waiting for its second season. The first season’s last episode climaxed on a cliffhanger. Which clearly suggests that there shall be a second season to the show.


The story of the series is set in the Northern Wei period (386-535 CE) which was full of violence and chaos. During this period, innocent citizens are kidnapped and then are converted to slaves very often. The slaves are often thrown into the forest so that they can become hunting targets for the rich lords. 

A Slavegirl named Chu Qiao fell victim to the same practice but was saved by the Prince of the Northern Yan, Prince Yan Xun, and Yuwen Yue. Later that incident, she is taken to the Yuwen Manor where she experiences their bloody struggle for power. 

Finding herself and her younger sisters in an uncomfortable and dangerous situation, she decides to leave the place with her sisters as soon as possible but she is caught by Yuwen Yue and put under strict training to build a sense of companionship with Yan Xun.

 During her journey, Chu Qiao meets a lot of people including the joyous Prince Yuan Song, the unruly Prince of Liang- Xiao Ce, and a princess working as a spy named Xiao Yu. The story continues as time passes as Yan Xun’s family is regarded as traitors and Chu Qiao loses trust in Yan Xun and plans to battle Yuwen Yue to stop him.


Zhao Liying essayed the role of Chu Qiao, popularly known as Jing Xiaoliu, who is the protagonist of the story and a smart young girl. Lin Gengxin essayed the role of Yuwen Yue who is the heir of the Eyes of God and the Fourth young master of the Yuwen Manor. Shawn Dou essayed the role of Yan Xun who is the Prince of Northern Yan. 

Li Qin essayed the role of Yuan Chun who is the Princess of Western Wei and Yan Xun. Kwok Fung played the character of Yuwen Zhuo who is the grandfather of Yuwen Yue and Master of the 1st household. Chin Shih-chieh essayed the role of Yuwen Xi who is the Master of the 3rd household.

Wang Dong essayed the role of Yuwen Hao who is Yuwen Zhuo’s son. Wang Yanlin essayed the role of Yuwen Huai who is the Young master of the 3rd household. Xing Zhaolin essayed the role of Yue Qi who is a comrade of Yuwen Yue. Sun Yi essayed the role of Yue Jiu, who is Yuwen Yue’s guard. Yuan Quan played the character of Yue Shiwu, who is another guard of Yuwen Yue.


The first season of the series has 58 episodes. Its first, second, and third episodes premiered on 5 June 2017. Its fourth, fifth, and sixth episodes were released on 7 June 2017. Its seventh and eighth episodes were released on 8 June 2017. Its ninth and tenth episodes were released on 12 June 2017. Its eleventh and twelfth episodes were released on 13 June 2017. 

Its thirteenth and fourteenth episodes were released on 14 June 2017. Its fifteenth and sixteenth episodes were released on 15 June 2017. Its seventeenth and eighteenth episodes were released on 19 June 2017. Its nineteenth and twentieth episodes were released on 20 June 2017. Its twenty-first and twenty-second episodes were released on 21 June 2017. Its twenty-third and twenty-fourth episodes were released on 22 June 2017.

When will Princess Agents Season 2 be released?

The last episode of the series was left on a cliffhanger and therefore it’s being believed that there shall be the next season to it. However, the makers of the show haven’t given an official statement about the same but fans of the show are quite positive about the second season.
